On Sunday, the boys U10 side travelled to Amersham and Chalfont Hockey Club to take part in the U10 County Championship. In their first game they drew 0-0 with the host's A team with Ollie Dowson making some important saves in goal. In the second match they beat the hosts B team 2-0 with goals from Rufus Barnes and Gus Leetham. Next they took on eventual winners Marlow A but despite dominating for much of the game, couldn't find that elusive goal to take the win. Their good form continued ino the next game where they beat Marlow B 4-0 with a hattrick from Trystan Jones and one from Freddie Tuthill. In their penultimate game, Buckingham defeated Tring 2-0 with goals from Gus Leetham and Trystan Jones. The side then when into the final game against Wycombe knowing that a win would see them crowed county champions and a draw would see them runners up and also qualify them for the regional round. Unfortunately, Wycombe scored early on and despite a number of late chances, Buckingham could not find a way through and the 1-0 loss meant that they finished 3rd. It was a disappointing end to the tournament but it could not detratct from a brilliant and enajoyable day that saw the boys produce some fantastic performances and concede only one goal against the top sides in the county.
