Membership year 2022/2023 – Welcome to Buckingham Hockey Club
This letter is designed to explain the key requirements and the benefits of membership of
Buckingham Hockey Club.
Buckingham Hockey Club is a thriving and growing club, with its home matches and training facilities
based at Stowe School. The club is a separate entity to Stowe School, however, it has a close
relationship through a number of Stowe School coaching staff and players, whom support the club.
The club welcomes members at both junior and senior level, with access to a high level of coaching
and the opportunity to play in competitions and matches.

Matches
Adult men’s and ladies teams play in England Hockey leagues. A selection process for the teams is
carried out by team managers and this is administered through the app Pitchero. All members must
register on Pitchero and keep their availability up to date for up-and-coming matches.
Please note that league rules require players to wear club shirts, with their club numbers on the
back. Each member needs a black club shirt and a white club shirt. Normally black is the home colour
and white is the away colour. Club shirts are available to be purchased through the club and club
numbers will be allocated to new members.
Each player is additionally required to play match fees for adult matches. These are £10 for adult
games and £5 for junior teams.

Social events
Throughout the season there are a number of social events organised for the benefit of club
members, and all are welcome to these. The main event will be an end of season formal
dinner/awards night. The date for this has been provisionally set for 18 th May 2023.
