Buckingham Mens’ XI continued their unbeaten home run as they drew 1-1 with Sonning.

Buckingham were on top at the start of the game, with strong play down the wings from Oscar Holmes and Jack Boyden. Sonning defended well and kept chances on goal to a minimum as they came back into the game. A swift counter attack from Sonning put their forward through on goal, finishing from a tight angle past the despairing Mo Jones in defence, who had an outstanding game - covering every inch of the turf.

Buckingham picked themselves up well at half time and were on top in the second half. Neat play from Charlie Maclure fed the ball in to George Wood in the area, who made no mistake on the reverse stick to equalise with 20 minutes to play.

The majority of the remaining possession was had in the middle of the pitch as neither team fashioned a clear chance to win the game, final score finishing 1-1. Man of the match was Oscar Holmes for his commited defending and for several goal-saving tackles and interceptions.
