7. Club Strategy


The Ethos of the Club
Buckingham Hockey Club provides social, competitive through to elite hockey that is enjoyable to all its members, by being friendly, sociable and welcoming to all ages and abilities. A club that provides hockey for all the family, from a junior right through to first team representation.

The Objectives of the Club
• To provide playing, leading/coaching, umpiring and administrative opportunities at a participation, development and performance level.
• To recruit and develop children and young people into the sport of hockey and develop as players, leaders/coaches, umpires and administrators.
• To provide a safe, effective and child friendly environment in which to play and learn hockey.

The Club Development Plan will run for the three-year period 2020-2023. The Plan is focused on providing first class hockey facilities, coaching and player development accessible to all in the community to widen participation of hockey in Buckingham and surrounding region. The Plan will be reviewed at least annually to ensure its relevance, and progress against the plan will be discussed at committee meetings. It will set out a Vision for the Club and a Strategy supported by an Action / Get Well Plan.
