Several people have expressed interest in umpiring or acquiring a better understanding of the rules of hockey. In both cases the starting point is the England Hockey online rules course which you can find here:

This will give people sufficient understanding to start umpiring U10s and U12s in half pitch games and as confidence is gained to move on to full pitch junior matches.

From there the next step is the one day level one umpiring course.
