Buckingham Ladies 2s made their intentions clear with an emphatic win over Wycombe 2s to start their Premier 1 season.
This was a high intensity game with good play on both sides. Buckingham started well with a lot of possession, but Wycombe were well organised and defended strongly. The first breakthrough came after 9 minutes when Andrea Freshwater, having just come on as a substitute, scored immediately. Ten minutes later Anita Bazini added the second.
In a strongly contested half Lorraine Campbell received a green card after 35 minutes for a stick tackle, but Buckingham immediately regained possession and Fi Farley scored at the end of the half.
In the second half Buckingham came out very strongly and showed their depth and organisation. Kirsty Freshwater received a green card for tackling but the team continued their goal scoring trend with six goals in quick succession - Charlie Coumbe from a short corner at 39mins, Lorraine Campbell scoring two at 46mins and 51mins, Fiona Farley adding her second after 49mins and Andrea getting her second at 50mins.
After a very competitive game Wycombe were starting to tire with only 12 in their squad, Jaz Needham scoring at 59 minutes and Andrea securing her hat-trick after 63mins. This was Andrea's 200th goal for the 2s in a relatively short space of time - Well Done Andrea!!!
Wycombe got a well deserved consolation goal from a short corner after 68 minutes
Jaz Needham was deemed as being prevented a goal scoring opportunity by a Wycombe defender and converted a penalty flick on 70 minutes bringing the game to its conclusion.
