The heat was the biggest challenge in todays opening friendly match against Oxford Hawks.
With many new & returning members, the team started the match with great intensity not allowing Hawks to settle into any rhythm. some brilliant early linking play from midfield to the forwards saw Jaz through on goal to score in the fourth minute.
Buckingham continued to have the majority of play in the first half but failed to increase their lead
The decision before the match had been to play four 15 minute quarters due to temperatures exceeding 31', but the heat started to drain the energy from all the players in the second half. BLHC continued to dominate, having the majority of the possession, but missing out on a penalty from an obstruction on Jaz Needham, Buckingham could not convert passion into more goals.
A great start for our first friendly, with a welcome return to Mel Tuckett and Ozzie (Charlotte Ozwald) and a brilliant debut from Alice Rolfe
