Buckingham 2s played their best hockey of the season to beat Aylesbury 1s
This top of Premier 1 clash began very competitively with both teams showing their strength. End to end play filled the first ten minutes, until Fi Farley broke through from open play to secure the first goal for Buckingham. Aylesbury immediately retaliated with a great goal by Lucy Potts. The quality play continued until a period of particular strength by Buckingham saw them secure three goals in 5 minutes, the first from Vikki Ross, then two more from Fi Farley securing her first half hat trick. Buckingham continued their advantage with another goal after 28 minutes from star-striker Andrea Freshwater. Two penalty flicks converted by Sophie Tuckett were quickly followed by a further goal just before half time for Andrea Freshwater.
Even with a substantial lead Buckingham started the second half confidently with a fourth goal in open play from Fi Farley and a third penalty flick converted by Sophie Tuckett in the first few minutes of the half. Aylesbury battled hard and defended strongly, holding Buckingham until the 61st minute when Charlie Bracken scored with a straight strike from a short corner.
