Top of the Table Clash

Two unbeaten and capable teams met on a rain-swept Reading pitch to compete for Trysports Premier 1 top spot. With strong play from the start, the teams looked evenly matched until the 9th minute when Val Madojemu scored from a superb baseline cross by Sam Sandham. Buckingham then continued with the majority of the play but strong defending held them to 0-1 at halftime.

Buckingham came out positively and increased their intensity in the second half and after only three minutes half Andrea Freshwater took the score to 0-2. Buckingham's fitness and strength continued to show and they dominated for the majority of the second half. Great counter attacking and defending from Reading held until the 29th minute when Erin Coulter scored her first goal for Buckingham 2s to take the score to 0-3.

The final result of 0-3 was very much defined through outstanding goalkeeping by Reading and a very strong Buckingham defensive performance led by player of the match Charlie Coumbe (pictured).
