The local derby between Bicester 1s and Buckingham 2s started very competitively with Bicester attacking straight from the hit start. Bicester scored through a rapid break after only 2 minutes, then came forward again immediately after the restart to force a short corner, which they couldn't convert.
A rattled Buckingham had to rally and work to gain their structure, which paid off in the 9th minute when a flick on from Emily Protheroe put Fi Farley clear on goal. A wave of attacks follow with a great individual run by Ella Cusack putting Farley through for her second goal. A series 5 consecutive short corners just before the break failed to penetrate Bicester's defences, leaving the score 1-2 at half time.
Buckingham's strength and fitness showed in the second half with the majority of the play coming from them, but Bicester defended well and it took until a short corner conversion by Vikki Ross in the 69th minute to conclude the fixture 1-3
