A tight first half was short on clear cut chances but on 15 minutes Megan Edwards, playing at centre half, stepped forward out of the defensive line and drilled a far post pass to Andrea Freshwater who ghosted behind the defenders to flick past the keeper. Teddington fought back and mounted pressure with 2 penalty corners to no avail.
On 25 minutes Alice Rolfeās electric pace down the right turned the defence and her precision pass to Natasha James was flicked over the diving keeper to give Buckingham a 2-0 half time lead.
The 2nd half started with more Teddington pressure on the resolute Buckingham defence, with 'Keeper Amy Cairns coolly dealing with whatever half chances were made, until another interchange between Rolfe and James outside the Teddington circle opened up the far post for Emily Protheroe to slip through the legs of the advancing keeper.
Twelve minutes later and Protheroe made it 4-0 from almost an identical position slipping inside the post. Only a minute later a further flowing move had Freshwater feeding James, who slipped to Protheroe to calmly complete her hat trick (on her 16th birthday) in the space of just 13 minutes.
Teddington fought on bravely and scored a quality consolation goal. Final score 5-1 to Buckingham, player of the match shared between Protheroe (pictured) & Edwards
Buckingham next host Henley 1sts at Stowe School on Saturday 17th in a 12pm start.
