After putting 7 goals past Henley last week (4 by Freshwater, 3 by James), Buckingham travelled away to Witney. The match started with possession evenly distributed and much of the play being concentrated in mid-field. As the half continued Buckingham increased their possession and in the 16th minute Andrea Freshwater score off a penetrating pass from Fi Farley.
Buckingham continued to dominate and Freshwater scored her second from open play after 23 minutes.
A scrappy remainder of the half saw a Buckingham goal disallowed for a lifted ball in the D and some physical play on both sides, concluding in Witney scoring from open play in 28th minute leaving the score 1-2 at half-time.
The second half started at a high pace, with Buckingham attacking strongly. A challenge in the D by a Witney player on the floor was signalled as penalty flick to Buckingham by the umpire. After an umpiring discussion, this was overturned and Witney took the opportunity to break quickly and earned themselves a short corner which they converted to take the score to 2-2.
A disappointed Buckingham increased momentum and pinned Witney down in their half. Scrappy defending saw Buckingham win a short corner that was neatly converted by Sophie Tuckett.
Buckingham continued to push and after 62 minutes Tash James deflected a sublime pass from Farley into the back of the net.
Wave after wave of attacks continued from Buckingham which paid off with great linking play from Alice Rolfe resulting in Captain Andrea Freshwater getting yet another hat trick. Final score 2-5 to Buckingham
