Buckingham 2s still going strong

Buckingham knew that they were in for a challenging game when, middle of the table, Eastcote earned a short corner in the first minute of the match. Buckingham re-organised and started to increase possession resulting in Tash James (pictured) scoring after 19 minutes with a lovely individual goal from open play.

A well drilled and organised Eastcote then took the opportunity on the break to equalise after 26 minutes. Their experience continued to show when they earned themselves a short-corner and confidently converted it to take the lead.

An unrattled Buckingham continued to play their game and their persistence paid off with a converted short corner by James leaving the score 2-2 at half-time

A strong team talk at half-time saw some minor changes by Buckingham which meant they dominated in the second half. Wave after wave of attacks resulted in a further short corner which, through shear determination, saw Georgie Holme flick the ball into the back of the net.

Finally an error by an Eastcote defender passed the ball straight to the path of player of the match James who in a one-to-one with the 'keeper hit it into the back of the net, making the final score 4-2 to Buckingham

Buckingham maintain their position at the top of South League 3A as they visit Maidenhead next weekend
