On the coldest day of the year so far the scene was set for a top of the table clash between Buckingham 2s and MK 1s. The battle commenced with both teams showing their intent from the start. High paced passes met with strong defending and both teams closed downplay very quickly
Buckingham broke through first with a series of short fast passes finding Tash James who shot the ball into the back of the net
Further challenges resulted in a short corner being awarded to Buckingham which Sophie Tuckett deftly converted, leaving the score 2-0 at half time
The second half started as fiercely, with rarely a time when all 22 players were on the pitch. Milton Keynes piled on the pressure which resulted in the scoring from open play only six minutes into the second half
The competition continued at pace, but Buckingham hung on to win the match 2-1 and go three points clear at the top of the table
