Buckingham took on Teddington 2s on a dull, cold January morning.
Buckingham dominated from the start playing flowing, open hockey. Tash James opened the scoring 13 minutes into the game, after a beautiful through ball from Kirsty Freshwater. Teddington played the majority of the first half camped in their own D, with Buckingham's defence immediately regaining the ball every time they tried to break, but strong goal keeping from Teddington kept the score 1-0 at half time.
Buckingham started the second half at pace and James scored from open play in the first minute when Buckingham stretch Teddington through sheer pace. Teddington then regrouped and defended solidly, causing Buckingham frustration and leading to them earning a short corner which they promptly converted. Buckingham rallied back with, player of the match, James getting her hat trick after 67 minutes.
Final score 3-1 leaves Buckingham 6 points clear at the top of the table
