On a morning that saw snow on the ground and flurries in the air Buckingham 2s faced bottom the league Wallingford 1s.
Luckily the snow thawed in time and Buckingham started very strongly with Tash James scoring after only 3 minutes from a great ball slotted through from player of the match Liz Flack.
Wallingford however played good hockey and equalised from a short corner ten minutes on. Buckingham continued to dominate with wave after wave of attacks, but the Wallingford defence stayed strong and held Buckingham very well. However Buckingham were awarded numerous short corners, one of which they eventually converted, with Flack bringing the game to 2-1 at half-time
In the second half play got very messy. Some poor umpiring decision making meant that Buckingham were down to 10 players for the majority of the second half. Georgie Holme scored again for Buckingham after 65 minutes, from yet another short corner, leaving the final score 3-1.
