Buckingham Ladies 2nd Team travelled to Teddington for this Div 2 South league match. Early encounters were fairly even with both teams playing some attractive hockey, but the home team went ahead by scoring an early goal from a penalty corner move. They created several scoring opportunities but these were thwarted by the in-form Amy Caines in the Buckingham goal.Buckingham showed lots of endeavour and their efforts kept the score line at one nil to the home side at half time.
Teddington had a purple patch immediately after the break and created several scoring opportunities but the Buckingham defence held firm. Buckingham remained in the game and launched several good attacks down the right flank, forcing the opposition to concede two
penality corners, which unfortunately went unconverted. On several occasions Buckingham lost possession of the ball through inaccurate
passing but continued to remain in the game. However with only 6 minutes remaining Teddington scored two goals in quick succession
to seal the game.
Buckingham can think themselves rather unlucky to lost this game by such a margin which somewhat flattered the home side.
Beth Stainsby was voted Buckingham's most valuable player which was due reward for her stalwart work in the Buckingham defence .
