Spencer Women 1st v Buckingham 2nd Xl

Buckingham Ladies 2nd Xl travelled to South West London for this Div 2 South League Match against Spencer Women's 1st team. But, despite a gutsy performance lost by 3 goals to nil.
The home side started strongly and their robust style of play was obvious from the outset. This somewhat physical approach did not phase the young Buckingham side whose commitment could not be faulted.
Goalkeeper Amy Cairns was called upon to make several important saves but was beaten by a rebound shot after 11 minutes.
Buckingham failed to convert 2 short corners and conceded a further goal from the home team, to give them a 2-0 lead at the interval.

Buckingham's quality of passing improved during the period after half time, but several promising moves were thwarted by the strong home side defence, With 1 minute left on the clock Spencer notched their third goal, to give them a deserved 3-0 victory.

Amy Cairns Buckingham Goalkeeper was voted most valuable player, for her excellent performance in the Buckingham Goal.
