Buckingham 2nd Xl travelled to Epsom in the South League Div 2 match in a positive frame of
mind knowing that a winning result would move them to a safer position in the league.
Buckingham took Epsom by surprise after only 4 minutes, when Emily Protheroe scored with
a skilfully deflected shot.
Epsom responded well and drew level following a 10 minutes passage of play, during which they were on top. Although they continued to enjoy greater possession Andrea Freshwater put Buckingham into the lead after 30 minutes had elapsed. Unfortunately the lead was
short lived as Epsom drew level on the stroke of half time.
Buckingham regained the lead when Millie Holme scored from a short corner move.
Epsom forced five short corners all of which went unconverted through some stout Buckingham defence. Amy Cairns, Buckingham's
goalkeeper put in another fine performance and was voted Buckingham's player of the match.
Well done all of you, I am very proud of you all.x
