Buckingham Ladies 2nd Xl hosted Teddington Ladies 1st Xl in South League Div 2. match and narrowly lost 2-1
The visitors started strongly displaying some impressive hockey and forced two short corners after only 2 minutes scoring from the second. Buckingham retaliated when a fine run by Emily Protheroe led to a short corner which went unconverted.
Buckingham's play became rather disjointed during the next 15 minutes and at times were guilty of losing possession, inaccurate passing and some ineffective tackling.
Somewhat against the run of play Buckingham scored through Millie Holme but her shot was deemed to have struck the back of a team's mates stick on the way so was disallowed..
Ten minutes into the second half Buckingham draw level when Charlotte Oswald dummied an opposition tackler and scored with a powerful short from the edge of the dee.
However Buckingham's joy was short lived as Teddington scored 2 mins later when a high short was unavoidably deflected by a Buckingham defender.. Fi Farley put in another sound all round performance. and Millie Holme was voted players most value player.
