Buckingham 2nd Xl v Oxford 1st Xl

Buckingham 2nds played Oxford 1st team in a rearranged league match on Sunday 20th November.
Both teams started well, with Oxford forcing Buckingham’s goalie Amy Cairns to make several good saves.
Oxford were awarded a penalty flick which was converted, giving them a 1 nil lead at half time.
Buckingham’s team talk during the break motivated them to come out in an attacking mood and forced Oxford to defend for a long period of time. Following good inter-passing Buckingham were awarded 2 penalty corners, the 2nd of which was converted by Beth Stainsby.

Although Buckingham enjoyed the lion’s share of possession they were denied any further score by the athletic Oxford goalie.

Alice Rolfe & Millie Holme had several promising runs on the wing & Tracy Jones was prominent in mid field and was voted most valuable player
