Abingdon Pilgrims 1 v Buckingham 3's

Buckingham 3's set off on a new adventure after being promoted as champions into Trysports Div 2.
Our first game was against Abingdon Pilgrims 1. This was a new team with only 4 regulars form last season playing.
The team began positively and absorbed the pressure from the more experienced Abingdon . A flowing attack forward ended with Charlotte English putting Buckingham 1.0 up. Buckingham continued to create chances from both wings and an attack from the right resulted in a pin point pass form debutant Nikki Greaves which gave a simple tap in for Helen Holme. Buckingham went 3.0 up when Nikki Greaves scored her first Buckingham goal just before half time after a flowing cross pitch attack
The second half saw Buckingham continue to attack. After being awarded a well deserved short corner Buckingham made a complete hash of the stop which allowed Abingdon to break free and put the ball into our goal. buckingham however kept heads up and continued to press with Charlotte English scoring her second goal of the game. Abingdon scored their second after a fast break. The final ten minutes of the game Buckingham scored their fifth goal from Rotimi Joseph after a delightful piece of skill in the D. The final goal of the game went to Abingdon after a very contentious decision from the umpire.
final score 5.3 to Buckingham - well done to everyone who produced a really good performance in our first match together.
