Buckingham faced an enthusiastic Wychwood team in the final home game of the season.
It was clear from the start that Buckingham meant business and a gained a short corner within the first 30 seconds!
However Buckingham failed to convert it into a goal due to a very good save from the Wychwood keeper. This was the to become something of a habit throughout the game.
Buckingham took an early lead after an attack down the right, led to Charlotte English slipping the ball past the stranded Wychwood goalkeeper.
The first half was a continuous flow of Buckingham attacking play with Wychwood's only strategy to hit long balls forward to their lone high player. These balls however were cut out with confidence by Karen Wildman and Jordan Palmer. It was surprising that the score remained at 1 0 at half time.
Buckingham knew that this was a match that they should win and half time talk focused on keeping the width and not losing concentration.
Wychwood came out the second half positively and forced some good saves from Becs Ball. Buckingham however kept focused and finally converted one of their many short corners with a sharp shot from Bella Festa at the top of the D. A good linking move between Bella Festa , Frankie Musson and Helen Holme led to Jemima Hughes lifting the ball into the Wychwood net.
Bella Festa made it 4 0 with a well hit shot from the right which smashed into the backboard.
The 4-0 win did not reflect the pressure and possession that Buckingham had but an enjoyable match to watch on a warm and sunny day (at last!)
