As expected, today's match was incredibly tough, against the top of the division side, a team filled with very experienced older players and sharp, athletic older teenagers.
We lost 9-0, but the scoreline doesn't represent the huge effort which our team put in, with virtually everyone on the pitch for the whole match. The girls worked tirelessly and made sure that the play was far from one-sided. We spent as much time in the Hawks 23 as they did in ours, but their greater experience and fitness paid off and let them make sure there were usually more Hawks players than Buckingham players between the ball and the goal, whether in attack or defence.
Olivia played magnificently in our goal and kept the scoreline within single figures against us when it could easily have been far worse. She was rewarded by being voted Man of the Match.
