Great match despite 0-2 defeat against Oxford 6s

We had a fun outing last Saturday at Oxford Brookes against Oxford 6s. We lost 2-0 but it was a cheerful, energetic match and several new squad members played for the first time - Helen Holland, Ruth and Elloise - and Louise, Zoe and Hannah had their second outing. The squad included 7 adults - a record for us! The match was pretty even, and we had the first penalty corner and lots of close chances, but Oxford 6s are a very cohesive team who know each other very well and that paid off in an extremely tight defense and a fast and penetrating attack. We did very well indeed to restrict them to 2 goals, thanks to lots of good saves from Daisy, and to keep turning the play back up towards the Oxford goal. Player of the Match was Hannah, closely followed by Elloise, and we would love lots more opportunities to include both of them in match day squads.
