U12 A & B teams face tough battles but build on performance in the Chiltern Leagues

Both Buckingham Girls teams found themselves up against tough competition after the first full round of the Chiltern Leagues saw them battling against some fantastic teams.

With large turn over in the girls section in the last year and several of the successful U12s from last season moving into our U14s, the new look Girls As & Bs are taking time to bed into life in the Chiltern Leagues.

The As superbly led by Dominic Blackmore-Beeles who stepped in for Lorraine Campbell faced a tough trip away to St Albans in the Premier division. Despite coming away with no points, they played some superb hockey and a shout out must be given to Georgie Ledger who stepped into goal due to injury to our regular GK.

St Albans 3-1 Buckingham
Buckingham 0-3 Southgate
Thame 2-0 Buckingham

In similar fashion the Girls Bs who were battling against the elements at Stowe School faced some strong competition and improved throughout the competition. The girls worked hard and finished off with a good win which will no doubt help boost their confidence.

Buckingham 1-2 Aylesbury
Buckingham 0-4 Leighton Buzzard
Harrow 2-3 Buckingham

Thanks to Mike Vince for umpiring our Bs competition at Stowe School and to all the parents who supported throughout the rain. Chiltern leagues will return Sunday 17th November.
