Yesterday the club hosted the Buckngham HC junior festival. This event comes around once a year and is the flagship 'mini hockey' event of the season. 50 teams from 9 different clubs attended the event which kicked off at 9am with the U8 age group.

Buckingham HC entered two U8 mixed team including several new members of the club. Both teams enjoyed plenty of success and pitch time, playing 13 maches between them! Thank you to Vikkki, Stuart and Colin who led the teams.

The U10 age group is growing by the week and the club entered 3 x mixed team in this competition. Each team played 4 x 12 minute matches and all performed fantastically well. Thank you to Jo, Greg and Stuart for taking the teams.

The club entered 2 x GU12 and 2 x BU12 teams in the last festival of the day. All four teams were excellent throughout and enjoyed a competitive day of hockey and showcasing some excellent skills. Thanks go to Nick, Sam, Zak and Stuart who led these teams.

A big well done to the players and thank you to the parents for all your support.

The biggest thank you is reserved for the Buckingham HC volunteers - both coaches and the organisation throughout the day. Days like these cannot run without members stepping up and volunteering their time. Roles included coaching, umpiring, pitch set up between competitions, meet and greet, car parking, BBQ, PA system and more...

Several club members arrived at 7.45am and didnt leave until 3.30pm.

Huge thanks to Phil, Nigel, Matt, Karl, Juliet, Colin, CB, Ian, Lauren and Taryn for the organisation throughout the day and to our coach volunteers Vikki, Stuart and Colin (U8) Jo, Greg and Stuart (U10), Zak, Sam, Nick and Stuart (U12). This was a MASSIVE team effort!!
