LADIES 1ST XI MAKE EH TIER 1 CUP FINALS

Laithwaites Ladies 1st XI qualify for EH Cup Championship Finals at Lee Valley 21st May

"Winners are not those who never fail, but those who never give up"

The second half of the 2021/22 season proved why the Laithwaites Ladies 1st XI finished top 4 in the Premier league in years past and Qualified for European Club Indoor Championships.

Finishing the first half of the season in the bottom five, 2nd from last, the Laithwaites Ladies 1st XI had their work cut out for them.
Over winter a number of our Ladies 1st XI played in the Indoor league.Captained by Alex Naughalty, they qualified for the Super 6's Indoor Championship Finals at the Copper Box in London, finishing a credible 3rd place.
Early in the New Year, as 2020 National Super 6's Indoor Champions, the team travelled to Turkey to compete in the European Club Indoor Championships.

As the second half of the outdoor league started, in true Buckingham Hockey Club spirit the Laithwaites Ladies 1st XI made an impressive comeback.
Captained by Lottie Porter, along with coach Zak Jones, Kevin Mayles & manager Kate Porter the Ladies 1st Team took on the second half of the season with a winning streak. The team ending the season in a comfortable 8th place only 2 points behind 7th.

As if this wasn't enough the Laithwaites Ladies 1st XI played in the EH Tier 1 Cup Championships too. With a fantastic 5-0 win in the Semi-finals this past weekend they are through to the EH Cup Finals on 21st May at Lee Valley!

The Buckingham Hockey Club teams have all had a successful season in their owns rights with notable mentions for the U14 Boys making their EH Cup Semi-Finals, Men's 2nd XI ending with a promotion in their first season & the Men's 1st XI ending a respectable 3rd, narrowly missing out on promotion in only their 2nd season.

As the league season comes to a close we look forward to our End of Year Dinner on Saturday 30th April, organised by Chris Birch.
